The Gadsden Elementary School District #32 Marching Band is from San Luis, Arizona which is located on the border of San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico. The marching band is composed of approximately 160 students from grades 4-8, including some students who have returned from high school to march with the band. What distinguishes this band from the others is that it includes field type showmanship when performing in parades. The band is under the direction of Martin Peraltaa Sr. and his son Martin Peralta Jr.

... Watching the "parade" right now, and have to say, very disappointed that instead of showing the bands as they marched by, (were there even any floats?), etc. all it seemed they broadcast were people performing songs or announcers talking...talking...talking......NOT ONCE have we seen a band actually march by and play a whole song! Looks like it would have been a nice parade, but wont be watching it again since they dont even show the parade. :( |

... I am so proud of our Marching Band. Their dedication and commitment is amazing! In the Hollywood Parade, everybody standing around us looked at this band with awe and couldn't help asking, "Is is an Elementary District Band? These kids are so small as compared to other bands from High School and yet; their performance is so professional!" Their synchronization was perfect…It was just awesome!!! Thanks to the team-work of the committed teachers…who do it for the passion of music, for the love of community, for the commitment to the district and for strengthening their roots…SAN LUIS!!! This band has brought city of San Luis and state of Arizona at par with bigger cities and states in America. Special thanks to Dr. A for always encouraging the talent and promoting the deserving!!! |
