This marks Long Beach Junior Concert Band’s 54th consecutive year in the Hollywood Christmas Parade. The band from Long Beach, California is under the direction of Jim Mitchell. Over the 59 years of the band’s existence, it has captured over 1,500 Sweepstakes and First place awards. The band has appeared in numerous television commercials and toured Hawaii and Japan.

Thousands of young adults, most now grown, are better off today because of Marvin Marker. Marvin was much, much more than the band director for LBJCB. He inspired all of his LBJCB (kids) to be the absolute the best they could be. He taught us discipline, respect, and patience. I am a better person for having known "The Pied Piper of Long Beach."
