That date will stay in memories of fans of Lucci as much as the day she won the Emmy Award® in May of 1999. This tremendous honor is the icing on the cake of an incredible career as Erica Kane on All My Children. In fact, she has been honored with many awards over the course of her career spanning from her tireless work with children, her passionate dedication to her community and in celebration of her work as an actress.

In fact, when VH-1 named her one of their “200 Top Icons of all Time,” Lucci was thrilled and honored by the reference. Her work and her contributions to the entertainment community and beyond have become timeless. Any new endeavor she partakes only continues to add dimension to her already multi-faceted and award winning career.

As the most famous face in daytime television history, Lucci has held audiences spellbound for years as the sexy, sassy, beautiful “woman you love to hate,” Erica Kane on ABCs Daytime Drama Series, All My Children.In May 1999, all of America stood and cheered when Susan Lucci won the Emmy Award® for “Best Actress.” It was a historic moment not only for Susan Lucci, but for all of television.

Bill Farrar

Bill Farrar is currently the Senior Vice President, Operations and Business Development for Andrews International.  When he joined Andrews, he brought 23 years of experience with the Los Angeles Police Department.  As an officer, he patrolled some of the highest crime ridden areas of Los Angeles, Vice, Narcotics and served on the staff of the Assistant Chief of Police.  For Andrews International, he has overseen the commercial operations of the Hollywood & Highland project.  Bill currently serves as Board Chairman of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and sits on the board of the Citizens Advisory Committee to the U.S. Army.

 
Councilwoman Janice Hahn

Janice Hahn is currently serving her third and final term as Councilwoman of the 15th District of the city of Los Angeles. Her district makes up the communities of Harbor City, Harbor Gateway, San Pedro, Watts and Wilmington. She serves as the Chair of the Trade, Commerce and Tourism Committee which oversees the Port of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles International Airport and the Convention & Visitors Bureau. Councilwoman Hahn has been instrumental in the success of the city’s network of neighborhood councils. She is an advocate of keeping children out of gangs through the Gang Alternatives Program.

 
LAPD Chief Charlie Beck

LAPD Police Chief, Charlie BeckThe Los Angeles City Council unanimously approved Mayor Villaraigosa’s selection for Police Chief earlier this month. Deputy Police Chief Charlie Beck will now head the LAPD as its Police Chief. He is a 32 year LAPD veteran and has seen much in the department and city. He was successful in rehabilitating the LAPD’s Rampart Division and later headed LAPD’s forces in South Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles Times, Chief Beck has earned praise from police and civic leaders alike for blending a tough stance on crime with a progressive approach to improving the LAPD’s relationship with the public. The City of Los Angeles welcomes Charlie Beck as its new Police Chief.

Council President Eric Garcetti

Councilmember Eric Garcetti“You can’t look to the stars until you’ve fixed the cracks in the sidewalk,” Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti often says. He serves the 13th Council District, a district which has over 100 languages spoken on its streets. Garcetti became one of the youngest city councilmembers in the city’s history when he was elected in 2001. He was elected as Council President in 2005, 2007 and again in 2009. During his first term in office, Garcetti oversaw the revitalization of Hollywood and led the effort to fund the nation’s largest Affordable Housing Trust Fund. He is an avid photographer, jazz pianist and composer.

Councilmember Tom La Bonge

Councilmember Tom LaBongeCouncilmember Tom LaBonge has served the 4th District since first being elected in 2001. Dubbed Mr. LA by Los Angeles magazine this year, Mr. LaBonge is known for his infectious civic spirit and knowledge of Los Angeles. He has worked for the city for more than 35 years, having served on the staffs of Mayor Richard Riordan and the late City Council President John Ferraro. He currently serves on various committees including as Chair of the City Council’s Arts, Parks, Health and Aging Committee. Mr. LaBonge is also President of the Los Angeles Sister Cities, Inc., a non-profit organization that maintains connections between L.A. and its 25 sister cities around the world.
